Daniel Shatzkin

Daniel is a debate educator and coach who spends their days helping middle and high school students master the art of Lincoln-Douglas and Public Forum debate. They have been a teacher and debate coach for over a decade. From building philosophically rigorous LD topic guides grounded in thinkers like Rawls, Kant, and Singer, to crafting playful, engaging Public Forum lessons for 6th and 7th graders, Daniel has a knack for making complex argumentation click at any level; because a good framework should be just as fun to teach as it is to win with. Off the clock, Daniel can usually be found hiking a new trail, curled up with a good book, or experimenting in the kitchen (with mixed results), all under the watchful supervision of their dog, Maggie.
