Won Joon Kang has a B.A. in philosophy and human rights with a concentration in political science from Columbia University. He has spent nearly a decade coaching debate and public speaking across the country, with a primary focus at the Bergen County Debate Club. He currently serves as the Lead Coach and Operations Director.

Won Joon was a nationally ranked policy debater and was the top speaker in the local policy league. After pivoting into Public Forum, he has personally taught over 1,100 students and helped set up over 2,000 more students for success at BCDC. Notably, he has coached dozens of students to earn several bids for the TOC. His students have championed nearly every prestigious tournament in the nation—all of which can be found on the “results” page of the BCDC website!
